We have a ton of drawing homework this week: a self portrait, 4 exercises and a whole passel of copy plates of eyes. I started with the eyes because they're the easiest. So far I've done 12 and there are something like 45 in total --and that's only a sixth of the homework.
We spent the first class drawing simple spheres with flashlights, then moved on to the eye. Next class we move on to the head. It's a lot of work but it's very soothing. That's a really good thing in a night class --very nice to just uncouple the workday brain and let the image go from my eyes to the paper without taxing my conscious mind too much.
Finally I begin to understand why such things as 2H lead exist in the world.
